At last night’s meeting, the McMinnville School Board issued a proclamation declaring November 14 – 18 to be American Education Week.

The week is an annual recognition of the work that education employees perform to serve children.  Click here to read the official proclamation.

Additionally, the Patton Middle School students presented the Mindset Matters curriculum that’s being used during advisory classes to teach character.

Introduced by principal Brian Crain, and guided by teacher Emily Wilcox, students Cindy Borja, Caleb Patrick, Aaron Resendez, Anna Reddick, Aaliyah Trujillo, Daphne Moses and Katelyn Frank each talked about an aspect of the curriculum.  The students also asked board members to share experiences connected with courage, honor and respect, which are upcoming themes of the program.
