McMinnville School District provides a full-day kindergarten
program to support a strong start for all students.
The full-day kindergarten program features
- Literacy development
- Math/number sense development
- Physical education, music, library
- Social skill development
- Breakfast and lunch
Kindergarten follows the elementary school schedule, Monday
through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and includes transportation consistent with district policy, outside of the one-mile walking distance.
The benefits of full -day kindergarten include:

grades

- Accelerated literacy and language development
Enrollment age:
- Children who will be five years old on or before September 1 may register for kindergarten.
- Children who will be six years old or have completed kindergarten on or before September 1 may register for first grade.
- Students who do not meet the age requirements but are transferring from other public school districts in which the entrance age is lower may be considered for entry in this District in like grade placement.
All incoming kindergartners are evaluated using the Oregon Kindergarten Assessment.
In August, all elementary schools offer a transition camp for incoming students. Transition camp is part of the "Welcome to Kindergarten" program.
